The TR-ALASKA is an all-in-one industrial panel or rack mount computer with
extended temperature range down to -20°C (-4°F). It can be supplied with modern
multicore i5/i7 Intel processor or in legacy version for compatibility with
older Microsoft operating systems. Optional power is 120VAC, 220VAC or 24VDC,
48VDC, 125VDC and 250VDC.
Each computer is tested for cold start from -20°C (-4°F). Heating elements are used to warm up interior parts. Relay connects power to the computer when internal temperature reaches 0°C
(32°F). Time delay for
warm up is approximately 30 minutes when ambient temperature is -20°C (-4°F).
The purpose oof the internal heaters is to prevent cold start where different expansion rates of the semiconductor substrates can cause component breakdowns.
When the interior temperature reaches 0°C (32°F), the heaters disconnect. There is enough heat from the internal components for proper operation of the computer. The internal temperature
can be displayed on the screen with popular shareware porgrams that take data from the BIOS.
Please note that once the computer is under power there is enough internal heat for operation down to -50°C (-58°F). Only the cost start at low temperature can cause breakdown.
