Transduction products are based on high quality telecom grade components. They are for clients who are concerned with high reliability, longevity of product supply, and hardware and BIOS revision control. Custom products are also designed and manufactured for the utmost reliability over 10 to 15 years of service.
Most of our clients ask how often a computer is going to fail, not how cheap it is! For many of our clients one hour of down time is more expensive than the computer or monitor they use.
Our prices are competitive we do not compromise on quality to avoid costly repairs. Transduction products have 3 or 5 year warranty, but they are designed to work for at least 10 to 15 years. We still maintain some computer systems supplied 25 years ago. We offer only products with longevity of many years. Factories, power utilities and toll highways are designed to last 30 to 40 years. For example for the last 30 years Transduction computers help large oil tanker ships to navigate Suez Canal via networks of radio controlled beacons with precision of few inches. We have our computers and monitors working 24/7 in control rooms of major nuclear power plants in Canada, China, USA and Argentina. Our products are used in the windmills that generate electric power and power utility substations and many municipal water treatment plants.
Unlike computer companies driven by consumer demand, Transduction maintains inventories of older Intel processor and chipsets so our clients can replace computers that match their original design. For example we have long term commitment to supply computers with ISA bus. For this reason we can offer large organizations long term supply to avoid costly changes of hardware and software. We still manufacture computers that are compatible with Microsoft Windows NT operating system.
We offer rapid prototype development services at our facilities in Canada. Our contract manufacturing facilities in Taiwan give us the opportunity for high volume access to PCB manufacturing on demand.
OEM contract enquiries are welcome for custom computers, systems and electronics/computer related metal chassis design and production. Most demanding clients in the world have challenged us to make chassis for them and we have gained their respect and approval. We can make prototypes faster than our clients can write their Requests for Proposals.
Our resources include an experienced team of computer, electronic and chassis design engineers, precision CAD-CAM metal shop, test equipment and an environmental heat chamber for burn-in and thermal stress tests. We have developed many custom products for our clients to North American standards including all work related to regulatory approvals such as UL, CSA, TUV, CE and FCC. We use local certified test laboratories for compliance with military and nuclear standards.
We have stringent ISO 9000:2015 quality control program
in place, certified by our registrar InterConformity that has JAS-ANS accreditation . For the benefit of our clients we maintain log of each failure of any component during production or in the field to spot any trends over time to alert our clients if needed and to solve potential problems before they occur. Annual failure rate based on the actual service records is less than 0.1%. Our QA manual that describes our procedures is available on request. We keep 20 year records of each computer or monitor configuration including software activation codes. It is easy to retrieve records with the serial number of each item.
All test equipment we have has been certified to National Standards. Transduction maintains a computer controlled environmental chamber for temperature, humidity and acoustical testing of our products. EMI, vibration and shock test services are contracted from an approved certified lab.
