Transduction has released new redundant disk
option for the popular TR-MAX4 series computers
based on P4, Core 2 Duo, i5/i7 and Xeon
processors.
The TR-MR2 option is a SATA RAID1/0 subsystem
that also includes SLIM CD/DVD-R/W drive. This
option includes all mechanical brackets for easy
installation in the existing TR-MAX4 series
computers.
The primary function of this option is to
provide redundant backup of data as identical
content is stored on both drives.
TR-MR2 option is totally independent of any
operating system as it “looks” to as one SATA
drives. All RAID1 functions are implemented in
hardware – no special software drivers are
required.
The TR-MR2 RAID1 option can be supplied with two
60GB or 120GB industrial MLC flash SATA drives
or two 2.5” 500GB SATA hard drives. It can also
be configured as RAID0.
Redundant backup of MLC flash drives is far less
expensive than a single SLC flash drive, which
has much better endurance than MLC drives.
TR-MR2 RAID1 is very easy to use – replace the
failed drive and the disk subsystem will restore
redundancy automatically and advise OK status
with LED indicator. When one drive fails
related LED will flash and audio alarm will
sound.
The removable disk canisters are protected
against accidental removal.
The TR-MR2 option is suitable for use in high
security applications as drives can be removed
for safekeeping. It can be added to
existing TR-MAX4 computers.
TR-MR2 RAID1/0 option is available from stock.
Price with 2 60GB industrial MLC flash drives or
500GB hard drives and SLIM CD/DVD-R/W is $650. |
